Gates of Fire by Steven Pressfield

Ammonite by Nicola Griffith - Very pretty and the plot was interesting. The characterization was a bit bland at times and the science made no sense at all, but when have I ever cared about that? And, hey, it was fun to read a book with no male characters at all.
